About the Chapel
Built with intention in 1963, the Hartzer Park chapel stands as a masterpiece of Romanesque and Byzantine architecture. Its beauty isn't accidental, it's the result of artisans who understood that sacred spaces require sacred craft. Italian timber sculptures. Venetian mosaics that shimmer with colour and history. Bondi sandstone, hand-carved and laid with precision. Together, they create an atmosphere that's both intimate and awe-inspiring.
The Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart have stewarded this chapel for decades, maintaining not just the building but the spirit of the space. Beyond its doors, beautifully maintained gardens and tranquil grounds provide a natural extension of the chapel's peace—perfect for photographs that capture not just how you looked, but how the day felt.

The chapel is available for Catholic weddings year-round, seven days a week, except during Holy Week (Easter). We welcome ceremonies on weekdays and weekends, subject to availability.

Hartzer Park is a Catholic chapel approved for weddings. However, as we are not a parish church, all Catholic weddings must be authorised by the Office of the Bishop in the Catholic Diocese of Wollongong.
When you book with us, we will provide a form for you and your priest to complete as part of this approval process. You will also need to arrange and supply your own priest to officiate your ceremony.

Our chapel comfortably accommodates up to 140 guests, with the option to provide additional fold-up chairs for larger weddings (up to approximately 200 guests). Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, the chapel can be configured to suit your needs.
